Islam does not force anyone to stay in a marriage that he or she does not wish for. Therefore, you have the right to seek the divorce from your husband if you cannot live with him. However, you cannot simply divorce him by uttering the words by yourself. You need to do so through the legal system in your country.
If there is a Shari`ah court that has the legal authority to dissolve the marriage, you may approach them. Otherwise, you need to go through the legal system (the court of the land). Once the court has issued the divorce, it can be endorsed as a valid Islamic divorce by the imam of the mosque.
