Sunnah of exposing body for rain

So many may be astonished about this sunnah, namely to expose your body for rain at the beginning of coming off. In this regard, Muslim related on the authority of Anas as saying: (we came under rain while in the company of the Prophet, pbuh, who folded his clothes until rain wetted him, and then we asked him: O Messenger of Allah! Why you have done this? The Prophet replied: because rain is very recent relation with Allah Almighty).

It is sunnah for Muslims to get out when rain falls and expose a part of their bodies, except for private parts, directly to the rain.

Rain is a sign to mercy and goodness, and a soldier to Allah that it sometimes be a blessing and mercy for people, while at other times it be torture and indignation.

No wonder to see our Prophet Muhammad acts in this manner which makes us believers feel that we and rain are in one system worshipping Allah Almighty which is stated in the glorious Quran: (the seven heavens and earth and what is therein do make remembrance to Allah), Al-Israa, 44.

Let’s praise Allah for the bounty of rain and the bodies of us and our children for this generous provision, and praise Allah as He Almighty made us keen to the Prophet Muhammad.
